Internship Policy and Internship Opportunities

The Centre is having a comprehensive and beneficial Internship Policy to train young graduates in their respective areas of educational qualification having relevance with areas of research of the Centre and particularly in the fields of Politics, Governance, International Relations, Security Studies, Law, International Law and Media.

The Centre offers Internships, Training or Research Associate-ship in the following areas:

  1. Internship in Politics and Security Studies.
Programme Description: Centre for Security Studies and International Law (CSSAIL)offers internship, training or research association in Politics and Security Studies to provide opportunities of learning to young generation while interacting and hands-on-learning/training from experts and analysts of the Centre in theoretical and practical aspects of Political Theory, Governance, Politics, International Relations and Security Studies.

 

Centre encourages young volunteer researchers to join as an Intern, Trainee or Research Assistant.

 

Qualifications and Eligibility: Young Master or M. Phil. Degree holders in Political Science, International Relations, Defence and Strategic Studies, Public Policy, Pakistan Studies or History, etc. However, extraordinarily interested and young persons with keenenthusiasm are accommodated specially on graduation basis also. Persons with highest educational qualification with better percentage of marks are given preference.

 

Equality of Opportunity Policy: All opportunities of Internship, Training or Research Association are open to both genders without any discrimination subject to their extraordinary interest and commitment in media and excellence in educational career. All opportunities are based on Competitive Process due to limited number of positions or accommodating capacity of the Centre.

 

Compensation and Remuneration: Interns, Trainees or Research Associates are not paid. However, they issued a Certificate depicting conduct and performance during the period of internship, training or research association. However, in deserving cases a reasonable compensation is made for conveyance expenses subject to discretion of the Centre.

 

In some exceptional cases stipends are paid subject to availability of funds.

 

Duration: Internship, training or research association is from three to six months ordinarily. However, if the internee, trainee or research associate is availing this opportunity in partial fulfilment of his or her degree or educational programme requirement then it will be as prescribed or required by such degree or educational programme or as per Reference Letter.

 

Conduct and Discipline: The internee, trainee or research associate shall observe discipline or Code of Conduct of the Centre. Any incident of misconduct or odd behaviour my result in expulsion from internship, training or research association and also shall not be entitled for completion or participation certificate.

 

Topics of research shall be allocated and determined by the Centre unless the internee, trainee or research associate is having pre-determined or prescribed topic of research allocating to his or her referring authority.

 

The internee, trainee or research associate shall be bound to follow guidelines and instructions of his or her mentor as well as policy guidelines or instructions of the Centre.

 

Interns, trainees or research associates shall assist in organizing conferences, seminars, talk shows or workshops, etc.

 

Intellectual Property Rights: The internee, trainee or research associate shall not claim any intellectual property right i.e. copyright, etc., and all research papers, articles, essays, monographs, etc., shall be deemed property of the Centre. However, in appropriate cases, keeping in view role and performance of the internee, trainee or research associate, credit or recognition in the form publication of name as co-author, internee, trainee or research associate will be acknowledged only.

 

Entitlement of Employment: Interns, trainees or research associates shall not be entitled to claim employment in the Centre after completion of their internship, training or research association. However, the Centre, at its discretion, may offer appointment to excellent performers showing good conduct and behaviour during their term of internship, training or research association, on such terms and conditions as may be deemed fit and appropriate.

 

Availability of Opportunities: Interested young persons may apply or email their CVs, Resume or Profiles with a covering Application for Internship, Training or Research Association with a Note of Reasons and Justifications for Internship, Training or Research Association for their necessity and preference of the Centre for the purpose.

 

In case of non-availability of opportunity, the CVs, Resume or Profiles are kept in record of the Centre and included in Waiting Merit List for future opportunities. Candidate are intimated through their Contact Numbers or through their Email addresses, etc.

 

 

Decision of the Centre: It is the discretion of the Centre to offer or select any applicant or candidate for internship, training or research association which is binding and final. Decision of the Centre is not challengeable in any Court of Law or forum.

2. Internship in Law and International Law.

Programme Description: Centre for Security Studies and International Law (CSSAIL)offers internship, training or research association in Law and International Law to provide opportunities of learning, research, analysis, advocacy and professional training to young generation while interacting and hands-on-learning/training from Legal Professionals, Lawyers, Advocates, Barristers, Solicitors, Attorneys and Jurists of the Centre in theoretical and practical aspects of law, legal ethics and professional training in Legal Research and Legal Profession.

 

Law and International Law is second important area of research, analysis and training of the Centre. Centre is the conglomerate of eminent Lawyers and Jurists in different fields of law and Legal Practice in Pakistan.

 

Centre encourages young volunteer researchers to join as an Intern, Trainee or Research Assistant or Associate as well as Professional Trainee in Jurisprudence, Advocacy or Legal Research.

 

Qualifications and Eligibility: Young LL. B. or LL. M. Degree holders in Law from Pakistani or foreign universities. However, extraordinarily interested and young persons with keenenthusiasm are accommodated speciallyduring student-ship or pursuing their LL. B. programmes on part-time basis subject to availability of their time and choice also. Persons with highest educational qualification with better percentage of marks are given preference.

Candidates who have already completed their LL. B. or LL. M. and are interested completion of Law Internship for grant of Bar Enrolment are also welcomed who will be attached with senior Advocates of Supreme Court or High Courts for completion of Law Internship as a part of practical training in the Courts of Law. The will also be taught with special reference to their Bar Enrolment Examination (Law GAT) held by the High Education Commission (HEC) during their period of Internship. Such Internees will also be entitled to receive and got signed their Enrolment Applications to the Bar after completion of such Internships accordingly to requirements of the relevant Bar Councils.

3. Internship in Media

Programme Description: Centre for Security Studies and International Law (CSSAIL) realized the importance of communication, communication process and opinion-making. Modern process of communication works through Media i.e. Print, Electronic, Digital and Social, etc.

 

Centre’s Media Centre provide opportunities of learning to young generation while interacting and hand-on-learning from experts of the Centre theoretical and practical aspects of media and media strategy formulation and execution to became a succession media person e.g. journalist, reporter, anchor person, show host, analyst, writer, reviewer and social media expert or influencer, etc.

 

Centre encourages young volunteer researchers to join as an Intern, Trainee or Research Assistant.

 

Qualifications and Eligibility: Young Graduate or Master Degree holders in Journalism, Communication, Mass Communication, Media Studies or Political Science, etc. However, extraordinarily interested and young persons with keenly enthuasism are accommodated specially. Persons with highest educational qualification with better percentage of marks are given preference.
